Chemical-Related Operations Safety Training

      The “Chemical-Related Operations Safety” training course will keep those who work with chemicals safe from dangerous accidents, injuries, or illnesses that may result from work dealing with chemicals, as well as enable them to carry out their work effectively. The potential hazards will vary depending on the properties, conditions, and types of chemicals used. The different chemical substances used in these operations could cause different hazards. In turn, this could lead to possible health risks or work accidents. As such, individuals whose work involves chemical substances are required to have an acceptable degree of correct knowledge and understanding about chemicals.


Objectives

  • To ensure the participants know and understand the basic principles of work regarding chemical substances.
  • To educate the participants about the legal requirements pertaining to dangerous chemical substances so that they can conduct their work accordingly.
  • To enable participants to be knowledgeable about and comprehend the relevant chemical data (MSDS/SDS/PDS); know about chemical danger prevention and control principles, how to store chemicals, how to transport chemicals, how to use fire extinguishers, and how to properly and safely perform first aid for those who come into contact with hazardous chemicals.
  • To ensure participants know and understand warning signs or symbols on chemical labels so that they can select the appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • To ensure participants know and understand how to prepare for and provide initial response to emergencies.
