MISSION

               To encourage and support the University mission of education, research, service and transforming organizations with sustainability management with comprehensive occupational health and safety programs, using professional and knowledge staffs with high quality service, that advocate safe work practices.

      The mission of the Center for Occupational Safety, Health and Workplace Environment Management (COSHEM) is to build a legitimate occupational safety, health, and workplace environment management system and develop this system to meet international standards for the well-being of Mahidol University’s students, staff, as well as visitors to the university. Its key mission parameters are as follows:


  1. Gather, study, and analyze data from experts to propose the use of announcements, orders, criteria, or measures pertaining to safety, occupational health, and workplace environment that coincides with and is appropriate for every mission of the University to the Executive Committee for Safety, Occupational Health and Environment for its approval.
  2. Enhance and connect the operations according to safety, occupational health, and workplace environment standards to adhere to the law.
  3. Promote occupational safety, health and workplace environment management, covering all operational contexts within the university to reduce the risk of danger or disease at work.
  4. Enhance work safety knowledge and awareness, as well as assess the working conditions to ensure constant vigilance and accurate proactive prevention.
  5. Coordinate and monitor operational results in accordance with safety, occupational health, and workplace environment standards for continuity and sustainability.
  6. Build an operations database regarding occupational safety, health, and workplace environment for effective monitoring and assessment of university units.
  7. Create activities to instill a higher level of safety consciousness among university students and staff so that the community understands the importance of safety and is more actively cooperative regarding safety implementation guidelines.
