Accident Investigation Training

      The Accident Investigation Course is meant to enable those who carry out or are responsible for accident investigations to examine and analyze the real cause of any accident. This will involve considering the details and information collected from the site of any accident and from witnesses and then analyzing this data to determine an accident’s cause as well as developing preventative measures or a plan to improve and rectify an issue to prevent similar accidents from occurring. This will result in a more standardized means of accident investigation for all units.


Objectives

  • To provide participants with knowledge and understanding of the steps to investigating, reporting, and analyzing accidents.
  • To help participants understand the methods used in setting safe operations standards.
  • To enable participants to determine ways to prevent accidents appropriately.

Target Group:

      Safety committees, unit supervisors, or those responsible for investigating accidents.

Training Content:

      Related laws and requirements; definitions and meanings related to work safety (case study); causes of incidents, accidents, and accident loss; investigating incidents and accidents; analyzing to determine the cause of accidents; means to prevent, control, and establish operational standards; and forms used for recording and reporting accidents.
